I have been skiing all over the world and for whatever reason I hadn’t made it to Vail until this year. I will begin by saying that moving forward this is the only place I will go skiing for now on.
America's premier ski resort
Vail has been America's favourite alpine destination for more than 50 years. Boasting 5,289 acres of pristine terrain in the White River National Forest, an average annual snowfall of more than 9 metres and a European styled village, Vail offers an unparalleled alpine experience. A network of 31 high speed lifts and gondolas serve immaculately groomed front side runs, 3 terrain parks and the legendary back bowls. And it's not just for skiers. You'll find a wide range of boutique shopping, five star dining, art galleries, cinemas, and day-spas, all within minutes of The Four Seasons.
Endless terrain for every skier and boarder.

Vail is skiing at its finest: uncrowded slopes, fresh snow and an almost endless choice of runs from the steep and deep to wide open gentle groomed trails. There’s enough terrain for a lifetime of skiing, and a world-renowned ski and board school to help you perfect your skills
From the great multitude of blue groomers on the front side, to its awe-inspiring and jaw dropping back bowls, from its great kids adventure areas to its perfect tree runs, Vail takes the cake with almost every kind of skiing you can imagine.
THE FRONT-SIDE
Whether you've never been on skis before or you've developed a reputation for skiing backwards down a double black diamond run, you'll fit right in on The Front-Side. There's dozens of green, blue, black and double black runs to enjoy, plus the world famous Riva Ridge – one of America's longest runs at 6 kilometres.
THE BACK BOWLS & BLUE SKY BASIN
Vail’s legendary back bowls extend over 10 km and offer an easily accessible powder experience for both intermediate and advanced skiers. Some of the finest off-piste skiing in the world, with full lift access - you may never want to leave!
First time skier? Looking to improve? No problem.
For first time skiers of any age, or skiers looking to improve their skills, you won't want to pass up on the Vail Ski & Snowboard School. You'll get to know a highly experienced instructor, who'll get you skiing or boarding with confidence in no time, while showing you the best spots on the mountain. Find out more and book a lesson on the Vail website.

There's nothing better than a home cooked dinner after a big day out – and that's what you'll find all around Vail. Check out Flame, in The Four Seasons, for an incredible steak, or walk around the village for Mexican, Italian, Japanese… really, whatever you feel like.
There are incredible restaurants everywhere, lounges, and bars. People in Vail are extremely attentive, they really enjoy what they do.

One of the reasons we love Vail is the Village. Modelled after the best European resorts, Vail has something for everyone. Fine dining, intimate bars, cafés, galleries, cinemas, skating rinks and even a bowling alley offer a superb après-ski experience to complement the finest alpine terrain in North America.
